Second Quarter 2011

I guess if there would be a theme this quarter it would be birthdays!  Gracie turned two back in February and Dominick just turned one this month.  They really do grow up so quicklyโ€ฆ.  Melani made the โ€œHello Kittyโ€ cake for Gracieโ€“ because for about two months before her birthday the kid kept saying she wanted a greenish-purple โ€œHello Kittyโ€ cake.   And those of you who have read past newsletters know the kid can be persistent!  Think โ€œPasta Pastaโ€!  So Melani went online and got some ideas for the cake and put it all together.  Gracie was absolutely thrilled and that was all the reward that Melani needed!   I must say โ€“ I was quite impressed too.  Melani could have a career making custom cakes.  Iโ€™m trying to convince her to make me an Indiana Jones cake for my upcoming birthdayโ€ฆ   Dominick didnโ€™t get anything nearly as elaborate โ€“ but hey โ€“ neither did Gracie for her first birthday (or me for the first 43 birthdays Iโ€™ve had).  And itโ€™s not like Dominick really knew what was going on anywaysโ€ฆ.

Fourth Quarter 2010

Early Autumn was all about โ€œcousinsโ€ and โ€œpastaโ€! We loaded up the new minivan and made a grand trek (in Chevy Chaseโ€œVacationโ€ style) to a wedding we attended in September down in Pawleyโ€™s Island, South Carolina.  As many of youโ€ฆ
