Second Quarter 2011

I guess if there would be a theme this quarter it would be birthdays!  Gracie turned two back in February and Dominick just turned one this month.  They really do grow up so quickly….  Melani made the “Hello Kitty” cake for Gracie– because for about two months before her birthday the kid kept saying she wanted a greenish-purple “Hello Kitty” cake.   And those of you who have read past newsletters know the kid can be persistent!  Think “Pasta Pasta”!  So Melani went online and got some ideas for the cake and put it all together.  Gracie was absolutely thrilled and that was all the reward that Melani needed!   I must say – I was quite impressed too.  Melani could have a career making custom cakes.  I’m trying to convince her to make me an Indiana Jones cake for my upcoming birthday…   Dominick didn’t get anything nearly as elaborate – but hey – neither did Gracie for her first birthday (or me for the first 43 birthdays I’ve had).  And it’s not like Dominick really knew what was going on anyways….  My favorite part of the day now is coming home to see Gracie running towards me saying “Daddy Daddy” usually with a stuffed animal in tow, Dominick crawling over to me with a smile on his face and his monkey blanket in one hand and Melani not far behind with some kitchen utensil (because she is preparing dinner – not to hit me with it – as some might think!).  It is very nice to have happy little people & a great wife looking forward to you getting home….Check out our YouTube channel if you are interested in seeing some videos.  Just search for chipomite and the channel should come right up!
